Year 6 Trip to Henley Fort
Posted on: 09/11/2022This week Year 6 went on an exciting trip to Henley Fort to coincide with their learning on World War II.
Students were provided with authentic uniforms and took on the roles of the Surrey Home Guard Volunteers and Air Raid Wardens. As Air Raid Wardens they experienced what it was like during an air raid in an authentic Anderson Shelter and learnt about gas masks, blackouts and how to fight fires with fire-fighting equipment. As Home Guard Volunteers they hunted for sneaky spies, underwent training drills and mastered the art of disguise in camouflage constructions.
